The Liberal Party of PEI has set a Nomination Meeting for District 9, Charlottetown-Hillsborough Park for Thursday, November 28, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Brackley Commons (14 Union Rd, Charlottetown, PE), beginning at 7:00 p.m.
“The PEI Liberal Party is fully engaged in the process of renewal,” said Party President, Katie Morello. “A priority has been placed on grassroots engagement, policy development and district election readiness – and excitement is building.”
“The early nomination of candidates is a way to bring more voices into the PEI Liberal Caucus,” said Interim Leader, Hal Perry. “The hard work of Party renewal also takes many hands and a high level of commitment; this Nomination Meeting is a major step in that direction.”
Interested individuals must declare their intention to seek the nomination by contacting the PEI Liberal Party (info@liberalpei.ca) on or before November 14, 2024. To be eligible to vote, new members must be registered 10 days prior to the Nomination Meeting, while current Supporters of the Party can renew up until the call to order of the meeting.
“Lessons learned in the recent General Election and subsequent By-Election in District 19 tell us that Islanders and members of the PEI Liberal Party expect us to be more proactive and better organized,” Morello said. “Together, our elected Caucus, our Interim Leader and our Party Executive are charting a more aggressive path toward renewal, which includes our Policy Development process, fundraising activities and grassroots engagement. The upcoming Nominating Meeting is another important step forward for the PEI Liberal Party.”
