District 26 | Alberton – Wilmot
Pat Murphy was first elected by the people of District 26 Alberton – Roseville in 2007. He was then re-elected in 2011 and again in 2015, and is currently the Prince Edward Island’s Minister of Rural and Regional Development.
Pat has also served on a great many Standing Committees. These include Agriculture, Environment, Energy and Forestry; Community and Intergovernmental Affairs; Education and Innovation; Fisheries, Transportation and Rural Development; Public Accounts; Agriculture and Fisheries; Health and Wellness; Infrastructure and Energy. In addition to Standing Committees, Pat also sits on Cabinet Committees on Policy and Treasury Board.
Pat has been a local business owner-operator with the Alberton Irving, an involved community volunteer and a former Mayor of the Town of Alberton. He has also served as a member of the Alberton Area Development Corporation, was a Director of the Tignish Credit Union, and is a strong supporter of the Alberton Minor Hockey Association, as well as other community volunteer activities.
Pat lives in Alberton with his wife Karen, son Drew, and daughter Lyla.
