PEI Liberal Party members Katie Morello and Zac Murphy will be the party’s election campaign co-chairs, Liberal Leader Sharon Cameron announced today.
“I’m pleased to name Katie and Zac as our campaign co-chairs,” said Cameron. “We have a fantastic team in place preparing for our campaign, and I am confident that Katie and Zac’s combined leadership and experience will take the momentum we’ve been building and help secure a victory in the upcoming election.”
The last several months have been a time of energetic renewal for the Liberal Party, beginning with nominating Cameron as its leader and electing a revitalized party executive. The party has also been fielding a robust and diverse slate of candidates for the election expected to be called this week.
Morello is a lawyer with Cox and Palmer in Charlottetown and is also the party’s president. “I’m looking forward to working with our team to present a plan to improve the lives of Islanders by embracing opportunities and innovation,” said Morello.
Murphy is a financial advisor with Younker & Kelly and ran as a Liberal candidate in the 2020 by-election in District 10, becoming one of the youngest Islanders to seek political office. “We are well on our way in developing our strategy to present a vision for the province that tackles the serious issues we are facing,” said Murphy.
