Dr. Randi Doyle
The PEI Liberal Party today announced that Randi Doyle and Julia O’Hanley will serve as co-chairs of the 2021 PEI Liberal Leadership Convention, said Party President Don Leary.
“I’m pleased to announce today that Randi Doyle and Julia O’Hanley will serve as co-chairs of the 2021 PEI Liberal Leadership Convention.”
“Randi and Julia are active community members who have demonstrated over the years their commitment to the values held by the PEI Liberal Party and doing politics differently.”
Born and raised in eastern PEI, Dr. Randi Doyle earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. Active in public policy, Dr. Doyle has advanced policy initiatives to improve rural internet infrastructure and increase access to telehealth services adopted at the most recent Liberal Policy Convention. She is currently a Psychology Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Minerva University. She lives in Stratford with her husband, Michael, and son, Linden.
“I’m excited to continue working with Island Liberals in a process that engages all Islanders from tip-to-tip. This is an exciting opportunity for Islanders to step forward and share their positive ideas for how we can move forward together, inspiring a new generation of Islanders to stand up and get involved with the PEI Liberal Party in the process.”

Julia O’Hanley
Originally from Souris, Julia O’Hanley is completing her Law Degree at the University of New Brunswick. She is a summer law student in the Charlottetown Office of Carr, Stevenson and MacKay. She has previously served as a digital advertiser for the Liberal Party of Canada during the 2015 federal election and later as a Policy Advisor to the President of the Treasury Board.
“I’m excited to play an active role in our Party’s renewal. The new Leader will have a real opportunity to build on the strong track record the PEI Liberal Party has of supporting Islanders on critical issues, including access to mental health services and fostering economic growth that is inclusive of all Islanders.”
The Leadership Convention co-chairs will oversee the activities of all Leadership Candidates and ensure they adhere to the rules prescribed in the Rules of Procedure.
“We’re thrilled to have two strong women step forward to oversee an engaging, accessible, and transparent process to select the next Leader of our Party, and the future Premier of Prince Edward Island.”
Added Leary, “We are looking forward to a respectful debate of ideas between Leadership Candidates that demonstrates to all Islanders how we can emerge stronger than ever from the depths of the pandemic and move forward together.”
