Jordan Brown was elected in 2015 in the same district once represented by his grandfather, the late Addie MacDonald. Like his grandfather, Jordan became government whip, continuing until his appointment in 2017 as Minister of Education, Early Learning and Culture. Jordan was given additional responsibilities as Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General in 2018, and also serves as the vice-chair of the Cabinet Committee on Priorities.
Jordan graduated from UPEI with a BBA, then studied Law at UNB before starting a practice in 2006 in Charlottetown.
As an MLA, Jordan served on the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (vice-chair); the Standing Committee on Education and Economic Development; chaired the Special Legislative Committee on Democratic Renewal; and continues to serve on the Health and Wellness Committee.
Jordan’s extensive volunteer work includes: Rotary Club of Hillsborough (Car Dinner Chair); Director, Abe Zakem House; Chair, 21 Inc; Board Member, Canadian Bar Association (National); Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce Policy Committee member; organizing team member of Canadian Mental Health Association Golf Tournament.
Jordan lives in Charlottetown with his wife Amy Boswall and his two children, Finlay and Aulay.
