Former Councillor and hockey coach Pat MacLellan announces his intention to seek the Liberal Nomination in District 24.
“I have witnessed the impact of the lack of access to a family doctor,” said Pat. “I know our area needs a stronger voice to get family doctors back.”
Pat MacLellan has served on the council for the Municipality of Miscouche for the past eight years. In addition, Pat represented the Prince County area on the board for the Federation of Municipalities of Prince Edward Island. He currently works at StandardAero in Slemon Park.
“As a dad, I worry about the impact of the decisions we are making today on our children,” said Pat. “There’s a lot of issues that need action, whether it be the environment, housing, and our healthcare system. We need to implement the solutions to these problems now.”
Pat is well known for his dedication to the community and the sport of hockey. He has been a coach, managed minor hockey teams, served on minor hockey boards, and enjoys both playing and officiating hockey. Outside of hockey, Pat enjoys running and repairing cars.
Pat was born and raised in Wellington Centre and moved to Miscouche as an adult, where he now resides with his girlfriend, their four kids and their dog.
The nomination for District 24 nomination will be announced soon.
