Entrepreneur and restauranteur Amber Dennis has announced her intention to seek the Liberal nomination in District 1, Souris-Elmira.
“I have long been active in the Souris-Elmira district owning and operating multiple restaurants,” Amber remarked. “I look forward to this great opportunity to continue to serve the people of Souris and our area.”
Amber first began working for Bluefin Restaurant in 2002 at the age of 14. Later, Amber purchased the Bluefin restaurant in 2017. When the Bluefin, unfortunately, burnt down in the spring of 2020, Amber and her husband Jordan launched Strait Goods to continue the tradition of a Souris-owned and operated local restaurant.
Prior to being a restauranteur, Amber worked in a small legal practice in Charlottetown and spent four years working in the Premier’s Office under Premier Robert Ghiz.
“I look around at all my neighbours, and I see resilience. As the next MLA for Souris-Elmira, I want to reduce the pressures that our area is facing, such as access to healthcare and affordable housing,” said Amber. “It’s time to put a focus on rural PEI.”
Amber grew up with her three siblings and parents in Little Pond, both of whom operated their own fishing fleets out of Annandale. She and her partner Jordan live in Souris with their one-year-old daughter.
