Richard Schroeter is an artist and active community member who’s passionate about issues facing PEI families.

A resident of Kensington, Richard has been a foster parent for 10 years, and for the last three years, has been a facilitator with Handle With Care, a program designed for parents and caregivers to promote the mental health of children and their families.

Richard works as a multimedia specialist at Veterans Affairs Canada. Before that, he worked behind the scenes in the Canadian TV and film industries. He is also an accomplished artist who has experience in writing, comedy, painting, drawing, woodwork, metalwork and stained glass.

Richard’s father was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and his mother was born in Tenmile House on Prince Edward Island. He lives with his partner and their four children in Kensington.
