Amber grew up in the country with her three siblings and parents, both of whom fished their own fishing fleets. Her entrepreneurial upbringing and family-oriented hard work led her to become a business owner.
Amber is passionate about being a voice for Souris-Elmira and tackling some of the pressuring concerns facing residents, including access to healthcare and housing.
Amber’s first pay cheque was issued from Bluefin Restaurant in 2002. She began her career in the industry at 14 years old and purchased the Bluefin restaurant in 2017.
Before being a restauranteur, Amber was employed by a small legal practice in Charlottetown and worked four years in the Premier’s Office of Prince Edward Island under Robert Ghiz.
In 2006, Amber attended Universite Saint Anne in a French immersion program and later studied business at the University of Prince Edward Island.
Amber and her partner, Jordan, took on the challenge of rejuvenating the Bluefin Restaurant together when it, unfortunately, burned in May 2020. After some time and reflection, Strait Goods became a dream turned reality in December 2020 in Fortune PEI. Strait Goods moved to a new permanent location in Souris in June 2022.
Amber and Jordan welcomed their first daughter together, Lolly, in March 2022 and live in Souris.
“I ask for your support so that we can continue to work together to make a difference in our community.”
